I don't know about you
but when it come's to learning and study,I like to do it at my own pace
so things really sink in. Previously I completed 2 and a quarter years
of a
3 year 'Bachelor of Arts In Music' degree back in 1990,I did'nt
complete it because it became a real chore. I felt I was'nt really
learning that much anymore, and important area's I was interested in
were jus skimmed
over when I would of really liked to of gone more in depth in that
particular area but there was limited time available. If back then I
had access to unlimited internet
resources like there is now, then I'm sure I would of saved myself the
time and expense and just studied online at my own pace.
So since 2008 I've been a member
of a website called MusicProducerPro which is an online Music Production
Workshop where you can download tons of videos and tutorials
all on recording, production and sequencing techniques/equipment and instrument
lessons. MusicProducerPro also comes packed with audio,a
database and online beat maker and more. Industry listings are also
available in the database where you can get in direct contact
with a large number of record labels and industry
contacts, employment positions in the music industry are also
listed.
You'll also get access to
programs that'l teach you how to play any instrument you desire, thats
only 1 of the included programs.
One of the things I'm finding helpful is that you don't get
taught to produce and record in only 1 style of music, you get taught
to produce/record in a range of different
styles from hip hop, country western, rock, folk, classical and the list goes on. There's also 1000+
documented resources on mixing,sequencing,recording,beat making,loop
manipulation etc etc...
This program will help you to develop production
skills neccesary to produce good quality
tracks in a wide range of musical styles, thats
assuming that you make good use of all the
materials available to you.
So
We've Seen Some Plus's,Now The
Negative
Suffix to say I did try and find
fault with the program and did'nt have to try too
hard. I found the bass video lessons and pdf
theory and mp3 bass material was just not up
to par,the bass video lessons were of poor
quality and it was difficult to get a
grasp on what was going on in the video's let
alone trying to understand the instructor and what
he was on about. And I'm not even a bass player,if
your a bass player I'd advise you to go else
where.
Program Support:
Honestly needs work,maybe they
should hire someone specifically for this purpose.
(Hey maybe they can pay me to give good idea's
like the 1 jus mentioned,LOL)
Presentation:
Pretty messy in the members
area, they do need to clean it up. They've
gotta cut back on the ad's in this area, cause
after all it is a members area not the 1st page of
search results on google'.
Final Thoughts:
All in all the program
is pretty comprehensive(except for the bass
material obviously),if your heart is set on
becoming a multi instrumentalist/producer/mixer
etc then the rest of the material is
pretty good especially considering the price.
You get Lifetime membership for a one time
payment of $39.95 and there's a 60 day refund
policy if your not happy.
